For All Services:

Your dog’s initial consultation starts with a detailed case history, asking you (the owner) about how I can help you and your dog. This includes any relevant history (intake form) and information from other professionals e.g your veterinarian. Observations are conducted to better understand your dog’s behaviour and to ensure that your dog is safe to train. A training and management plan will then be discussed and implemented; this will involve the trainer handling and training your dog and then passing those skills on to you. Training consists of you interacting with your dog in a safe and ethical manner at all times - aversive tools including but not limited to prong collars, shock collars and choke collars are not permitted in any session or class.

You certify that you are the legal owner (or agent of the owner) of, and am responsible for, this dog. You have read the above section. Furthermore, you understand and am informed that you do not expect the trainer to be able to anticipate and explain all possible risks at all times, and you wish to rely on the trainer to exercise her judgment in conducting training sessions which the trainer feels, at that time, based on the facts then known, is in your dog's best interests. You understand that results are not guaranteed. You understand that you can withdraw your consent to your dog's training at any time and that your trainer will gain ongoing verbal consent from you throughout our sessions.

You certify that the information your provided is correct to your  knowledge. You authorise Understanding Canine and its associated staff to collect your dog’s personal and medical information as documented in your intake form, as well as communicate with your family Vet as deemed necessary for your dog’s training plan. You also understand that your dog’s personal and medical information is confidential and will only be disclosed to third parties with your permission.
